The Supreme Court would get four additional seats under the Judiciary Act of 2021, increasing its size to 13 justices. It would assist in restoring balance to a court that Mitch McConnell has stacked with right-wing radicals who recently dismantled abortion coverage for half the states in the nation.
The consequences will be disastrous for women, particularly poor women. All women’s rights and the rights of sexual and gender minorities are in jeopardy with these fanatics on the court.
What will prevent the recently appointed justices from further undermining everyone in America’s right to privacy? We have seen that their purported assurances regarding established law were nothing more than lies.
According to a recent study, the majority of Americans not only think that the Supreme Court should protect the right to abortion care but also that the court needs to be balanced again and that more judges should be appointed to the Supreme Court.
I’m pleading with Congress to approve the Judiciary Act so that we may establish a body that rejects partisan stacked-deck politics and serves the needs of all Americans.

To rebalance the court, Congress should exercise its constitutional authority.
There is no requirement in the Constitution that there be nine justices on the Supreme Court. Additionally, adding extra seats wouldn’t necessitate a Constitutional revision.
In actuality, throughout American history, the Supreme Court has been enlarged five times by Congress.
The Supreme Court has been taken over by a supermajority that holds extreme views that are outside of the mainstream of legal thought and out of step with the majority of Americans. Congress should use its constitutional authority to rebalance the court.
To stop the right-wing supermajority’s attacks on our fundamental liberties, including the right to receive abortion care, Congress must enact the Judiciary Act, which would add four seats to the Supreme Court.
Nothing prevents Congress from adding justices – other than, of course, the political desire to do so. Actually, a recent survey revealed that the majority of the American voters they serve are in favour of extending the court. I’m pleading with Congress to approve the Judiciary Act of 2021 in order to increase the Supreme Court’s size by four seats.

Enlarge the court to safeguard freedoms-
Because of a premeditated, decades-long takeover of the Supreme Court by strong right-wing fanatics, the right to abortion care is currently in danger.
As the court recently overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision that made access to abortion a constitutional right, we are witnessing the consummation of this takeover.
This makes it possible for states to criminalise abortion and returns us to the days when women were compelled to carry out an unplanned pregnancy, possibly jeopardising their health and making it more difficult for them to support their families.
However, this harm can be repaired. The Judiciary Act would increase the Supreme Court by four seats, bringing it back into balance. The majority of Americans favour this idea, according to a recent study, and it is what we need to stop politicised judgements that limit our rights and liberties.
And it has already been done. In fact, during the course of our country’s history, Congress has altered the size of the Supreme Court seven times. It’s time to try it once more.
