The Viral Fever has officially renewed the smash Indian comedy-drama Kota Factory for a third season; here’s all you need to know.
In recent years, the Indian television business has made great improvements, both in terms of audience demand and overall series quality. The Viral Fever’s adorable Kota Factory is perhaps one of the largest and greatest Indian series of the last several years.
The comedy-drama made its initial appearance on YouTube in 2019 and returned to Netflix last year, much to the delight of fans. Now that the third season of Kota Factory has been officially confirmed, fans are looking forward to the future.
Producer Confirms Kota Factory Season 3
Following the return of Kota Factory last year, fans binge-watched the five-episode second season and began to speculate about a third season.
Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long to find out what happened to Kota Factory, with producer Raghav Subbu revealing that season 3 was in the works just a few days after the show’s streaming debut.
“We know how the tale goes,” Subbu stated in an interview with The Indian Express. What happens to the characters, and what is the path of each character? “Which students make it to IIT and which do not.”
While fans were overjoyed by the revelation, many of us were not shocked that Kota Factory season 3 would be made possible due to the series’ international success and the open ending from season 2.
The fact that the Kota tale hasn’t been fully told is clear from the sad Season 2 finale. The series is “building towards the admission tests that Vaibhav, Meena, and the rest of the increasing group will eventually have to take,” according to the Hindustan Times.

Netflix didn’t provide official viewership data for their material at the time of season 2’s release, but more than 150 million views on YouTube were clearly enough for the streaming giant to buy the broadcasting rights for season 2.
Not only does this show how popular the web series has been since its premiere in 2019, but it also proves that Kota Factory is The Viral Fever’s most popular title. The series also has high ratings on user-generated content platforms, such as a whopping 87 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 9.1/10 on IMDB — the latter of which has over 68,000 reviews!
The second season may have gotten a mixed reception from critics, with many giving it a three out of five-star rating, see more here.

However, given Netflix’s push into original Indian programming and the series’ global appeal, it was only a matter of time until season 3 of Kota Factory was announced.
Kota Factory Season 3 Potential Release Window
While Kota Factory has been officially renewed, neither Netflix nor TVF have announced a season 3 release date – but we can make some educated guesses based on past installments’ development schedules.
Netflix announced in March 2021 that it had bought the worldwide streaming rights for season 2, indicating a remarkably rapid turnaround on production – likely due to the limited amount of episodes, five in both seasons.
Because of Netflix’s massive resources, the entry of the streaming behemoth as a distributor will also simplify the production of the third season.

Overall, Kota Factory season 3 is slated to premiere in Fall 2022, while neither Netflix nor the production team for the excellent series has confirmed this.
