For May, emergency Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments have been extended.
According to a news release from Governor Greg Abbott’s office, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission expects to issue $317.9 million in emergency SNAP payments by the end of the month, transferred to recipients’ accounts.
The US Department of Agriculture has approved a minimum of $95 in emergency allotments for all SNAP households. By May 31, recipients should have it in their accounts.
The emergency funds are in addition to the $6.7 billion in aid that has been supplied since April 2020.
