Report: Against the Bulls, Bucks Star Khris Middleton Sprains His MCL

The Bucks lost home-court advantage in Game 2 after the Chicago Bulls won 114-110 behind DeMar DeRozan’s 41 points.

Milwaukee, the NBA champions in 2021, can now confidently head into Chicago and recover the series lead. On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his teammates will have to do so without a star player. After the game, head coach Mike Budenholzer disclosed that star forward Khris Middleton has a sprained MCL (h/t: ESPN’s Malika Andrew):

 Late in the second half, Middleton suffered an injury and could not finish the game. An MRI on Thursday will reveal the seriousness of the damage, so it’s a nerve-wracking period for the team.

The 30-year-old forward averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists on a 44-37-89 shooting split during the regular season. His stats are down from the previous season, but he showed he could elevate his game during Milwaukee’s 2021 championship run, which featured a 40-point performance in Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
