Kawhi Leonard Has Taken a Significant Step Forward in His Recovery?

During this week’s play-in round, the Los Angeles Clippers will compete for an official playoff berth. They may have a Kawhi Leonard-sized reinforcement waiting for them on the other side if they successfully clinch one.

Bill Simmons of The Ringer revealed in an episode of his self-titled podcast this week that he has heard Leonard has progressed to three-on-three drills in his return from injury. However, Simmons stated that he has not heard of the former Finals MVP doing five-on-five drills.Kawhi Leonard

On this one, the merits of Simmons as a source can be debated. Simmons, on the other hand, has been a Clippers season-ticket holder since at least the early days of “Lob City,” so he is well familiar with the franchise.

To have proceeded to play three-on-three would be a big development for Leonard, who is now ten months out from his partial ACL tear and nine months gone from surgery. Leonard had only recently progressed past individual drills, according to Clippers coach Tyronn Lue, so jumping to three-on-three in such a short time is a major issue.

The smart money is still on Leonard not returning this season, especially considering the 30-year-old star has a history of being health-conscious. However, he recently had an intense workout on film and appears to be prepared for anything.
