The Houston Texans made one of the most significant moves in recent memory when they traded star quarterback Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns in a blockbuster deal. They might not be done trading with one another, though.
The Browns and Texans have discussed wide receiver Brandin Cooks, according to Browns insider Brad Stainbrook of The Orange and Brown Report. The depth of the negotiations, according to the report, is unknown, but the Browns have contacted the Texans about him.
Cooks enjoyed a breakout season with the Texans last season. He led Houston in all categories with 90 receptions for 1,037 yards and six touchdowns, setting a new career record.
In his eight years in the NFL, Cooks has played for four different teams. Despite his constant movement, he’s been a very productive player on the field. He’s only missed ten games in his career and has six seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards.
The #Browns have had talks with the Houston Texans regarding receiver Brandin Cooks at times this offseason, per a league source.

This season, the Cleveland Browns have already bolstered their receiving corps, acquiring Pro Bowler Amari Cooper in a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.
It’s unclear whether the proposed trade for Brandin Cooks happened before or after the Cooper deal. However, if this occurs, the Browns will have one of the greatest receiving groupings in the league.

The Houston Texans, on the other hand, are in the midst of a complete rebuild and may use as many draughts picks as they want. Moving Cooks wouldn’t necessarily jeopardize their plans.
