Tropical Storm Nadine approaches Belize as it advances west on Saturday. Meanwhile, Oscar developed into a Category 1 hurricane as it approached Cuba. Neither system is heading to South Florida. Here are the storms’ locations and the areas where they may have an influence.
Nadine
Nadine is predicted to weaken by Sunday morning. Belize and Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula are experiencing heavy rain and tropical storm conditions. Tropical storm warnings remain in Belize and Mexico. Flooding rains are expected to cause flash flooding, with some areas receiving up to 12 inches of rain. Tropical storm conditions will remain until Saturday afternoon.

Oscar
Meanwhile, Oscar became a tropical storm near the Turks and Caicos before intensifying into a hurricane on Saturday.
Tropical storm warnings have been issued for the Turks & Caicos Islands and the southeastern Bahamas. The Cuban government has issued tropical storm warnings for the provinces of Guantanamo, Holguin, and Las Tunas, as well as a tropical storm watch for Camaguey. Oscar is expected to continue westward until it encounters a frontal boundary and turns north and east.
This will relocate it away from the United States. Oscar has only 24 hours to strengthen further before moving into shear, but the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, and Cuba may get heavy rain. Rainfall totals might reach 6 inches.
