A man pulls himself in for a fatal shooting in Lauderdale Lakes

A man was arrested for a fatal shooting in Broward County over the weekend.

In a press release, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office stated that 32-year-old Djay Ramawad of Pembroke Pines turned himself in for the murder of Sunrise resident Kevin Hasnali, 28. He is now facing first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm allegations.

Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, BSO was dispatched to a shooting in the 4300 block of North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes, causing deputies and fire rescue to respond. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Hasnali with gunshot wounds and immediately began life-saving procedures. According to the BSO, paramedics transported him to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.

BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene squads were dispatched to investigate the event. BSO did not provide any information on the probe. Ramawad was arrested on Sunday afternoon and taken to the BSO Main Jail.
