El Taiger, a Cuban reggaeton musician, was still listed as critically ill on Thursday at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami following a shooting, according to his representative.
The singer, whose true name is José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, was admitted to the hospital for surgery after suffering a gunshot wound, and according to JMH officials, his status was severe.
A source told NBC6 that a situation Miami Police came to at roughly 7 a.m. near Northwest 9th Avenue and 17th Street was connected to the singer.
According to Miami Police Spokesperson Mike Vega, investigators discovered an unconscious male in the rear of an SUV with a gunshot wound to his forehead on Telemundo 51. Since there were no signs of blood, the evidence indicates that the gunshot did not take place inside the vehicle.
Two gallons of fuel were visible in the car’s trunk on camera.
Authorities have spoken with a person of interest in the case and are currently looking into the shooting’s motive.
As of this now, there are no suspects.
The 37-year-old’s admirers and followers were shocked to hear the news, which caused them to express concern on social media.
To support the singer, friends also visited the hospital.
“People should pray a lot because God can get through this,” one buddy stated in Spanish. “We are in shock because he is not a person who deserves any of this at all.”
