It happened at roughly three in the morning at a house on NW 19th Avenue and NW 53rd Street.

The couple, a man and a woman, were removed from the house and admitted to Ryder Trauma Centre, according to Miami-Dade police, but they did not make it out alive.

They did not immediately reveal their names.

Arson investigators and homicide detectives were called in in reaction to the fire, but they did not offer any other details regarding the possible reason.

Furthermore, it’s unknown how many other individuals were inside when the fire broke out.

On Friday afternoon, a male who was not identified left the site in handcuffs.

Images showed firefighters breaking through a damaged window to enter the house while flames were evident outside.

The house was completely engulfed when emergency personnel got there, according to the police.

Vera Lewis and other neighbours woke up to smoke and sirens.

“There were people across the street looking very frantic like they don’t know what’s going on,” she said.

In Spanish, a different neighbour mentioned that he knew the deceased. He claimed that the victims shared mangoes from the tree in their yard with him and were always very kind to him.

“I don’t even know what to say, it’s so hard for me, you know, hearing this,” neighbour Leonie Johnson said. “All I can say is God be with them.”
