According to Irving police, a physician assistant who previously worked at a North Texas pediatrics office has been accused of sexually abusing many children during medical examinations. The suspect, Angel Nunez, 25, worked at Little Spurs Pediatrics offices in Fort Worth, Irving, Grand Prairie, and Arlington between August 2023 and August 2024, Irving police stated in a press release Thursday.
Police investigators became aware of the claims in late August, when they received a report of abuse at the Little Spurs Pediatrics site in Irving. The inquiry discovered that Nunez “had inappropriate sexual contact with multiple juvenile patients on separate occasions,” according to the release. “These patients believed they were receiving a medical exam and were not aware at the time that they were being abused.”
According to a Little Spurs statement, as soon as the clinic learned “that an employee conducted a medical procedure beyond their scope of practice and outside of our established guidelines,” management contacted Child Protective Services, launched an internal investigation, and terminated Nunez’s employment.
“At Little Spurs, we adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct, and we are dedicated to ensuring that all staff conduct aligns with our core values and policies,” a spokeswoman told me.
Nunez was detained on September 5 on charges of indecency with a kid. On September 7, he was freed from Dallas County Jail after posting a $100,000 bond. Irving police stated that Little Spurs Pediatrics has cooperated throughout the investigation.
Investigators encourage everyone who may have interacted with Nunez to discuss it with their children, family, and friends. If you know a victim or are a victim, please call Investigator Padrutt at (972) 721-6565 or [email protected], or the Irving Police Department at (972) 273-1010.
