After a south Arkansas company assisted in a critical discovery, a 10-year-old girl from Louisiana is safely back home. The entire incident was captured on camera.
The 10-year-old was discovered about 11 p.m. on Sunday after being reported missing earlier in the day, according to the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The girl’s discovery in a forested area close to Sand Plant Road in Webster Parish, Louisiana, is captured on drone footage provided by Drone Management Services, a Magnolia, Louisiana-based company.
Josh Kolber, a co-owner of Drone Management, said he received the plea for assistance while in Arkansas. Later that day, he travelled to Louisiana, launched his drone, and eventually saw the girl dozing on the ground.
“I stayed on the south side of Sand Plant Road, and she was probably 200 yards down that road,” Kolber said. “She woke up, you can see her head snap back as soon as law enforcement officers get there and get her a bottle of water and get her checked out.”
The fact that the little girl is now back with her family makes him and the hundreds of volunteers happy.
“It was a desperate situation and whether somebody else found her or we found her, I’m just glad she was found,” Kolber said.
