After receiving an update from police on the man who carjacked her, a woman says she is afraid for her life. The suspect has broken free from his ankle monitor and is on the run.
Glenda Defas of Sunny Isles Beach says she received a call from police over the weekend. It concerned the suspect in her case, Savalas Cigar. “I am very terrified. I’m unable to eat because I can’t sleep. “This is no way to live,” Defas stated.
Cigar, 46, stole the automobile from Defas and refused to stop as police chased him down Alton Road in August, investigators claimed. The automobile flipped over. Troopers arrested him and placed him under house arrest. Defas stated that she is now living in fear. She was with her deaf brother, Martine, and expressed concern for both of their safety. “I can’t continue like this,” Defas said. If you know where Cigar is, investigators ask that you phone Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
