A 16-year-old kid died Monday after being shot at a residence in Wilton Manors, according to authorities.
Officers from Wilton Manors and Fort Lauderdale Police responded at 2:30 p.m. to a multi-family residential unit in the 400 block of Northwest 25th Street, where they discovered the victim. Christopher Granados, a teen, was transferred to a local hospital and died there. Granados attended Fort Lauderdale High School.
Police said the gunfire was limited to the apartment and posed no threat to the community. A neighbor told NBC6 that shortly after the shooting, she noticed numerous teenagers running out of the house, screaming and weeping. The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting. It was unclear whether anyone was arrested.
