According to authorities, a suspect has been detained and charged with the remains of a lady discovered on Long Island crammed into a suitcase.
Just before 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Ronald Schroeder was apprehended by MTA officers at Manhattan’s Penn Station, according to Suffolk County Police. After Seikeya Jones’s body was found in a bag on September 3, the 31-year-old Schroeder was charged with concealing a human corpse. Additionally, third-degree possession of a prohibited narcotic is a charge brought against MTA police.
Schroeder’s attorney’s details were not immediately accessible.
The luggage was discovered in a Huntington forested area behind an apartment block. The manner of Jones’s death, age 31, is still being investigated by the medical examiner.
As the mystery surrounding Jones’s whereabouts deepens, others who knew her stopped at the site of her discovery.
“We called her Keya,” Mary Waldron said. “She was a really sweet girl. She was always smiling. She was always happy.”
After Jones got into some problems, Waldron told reporters, she “changed and kind of ended up on the streets.” Nevertheless, her friends made an effort to stay in touch with her.
