A 59-year-old man was struck by a private school bus on Thursday morning as he crossed a Bradenton road, according to the police.
The man was hit by the bus on Manatee Avenue near 26th Street East just after 6:30 a.m., according to the Bradenton Police Department. He was crossing the street.
Manatee Avenue’s westbound lanes were closed by police between roughly 6:45 and 7:30 in the morning.
According to authorities, the man—whose identity was kept secret—was not using a crosswalk.
A press release stated that the pedestrian was brought to a hospital for treatment. The police withheld information about his health.
In the collision, none of the pupils on the private charter school bus suffered injuries.
