On Monday, the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and other regions were targeted by the Russian military. Numerous civilian facilities were damaged in the assaults.
According to the Ukrainian military, Russia was the source of 35 missiles and 23 attack drones.
During the day, air attack alerts were in effect in Kyiv for about two hours.
The city reported that three persons were hurt and that missile debris was discovered in eight different parts of the city.
In one instance, a school’s boiler caught fire after debris fell on it. Later, the fire was put out. An NHK team noticed that the ceiling and walls had mostly fallen. They also saw individuals removing trash.
It also looks like missile debris fell close to a tube station. The windows of the station are shattered.
Numerous stores near the station suffered damage. Certain signs were dangling off.
The ceiling fell and the electricity was turned off at a bakery. It became challenging for the store to stay in business as a result.
The woman who owns the bakery left Kherson, a part of southern Ukraine that was under Russian occupation in 2022. Just six months have passed since she established her bakery in the capital.
The woman said: “We opened the door and saw all the destruction. The ceiling was crumbling. It was unpleasant.” She added: “It’s complicated. Of course it’s complicated. I am broken, yes! But I’m holding on. I have to hold on. It’s not going to get better if I break down further.”
