Earlier this month, AT&T discovered that millions of customers’ data, including personal information such as Social Security numbers, had been uploaded to the dark web.

According to AT&T, the company is conducting an investigation to determine whether the data in those fields originated from AT&T or one of its vendors.

For the time being, the organization does not possess any evidence that unauthorized access was gained to its systems, which led to the exfiltration of the dataset.

The telecoms business, which is one of the most widely used cellphone carriers, has stated that it is contacting the clients who were affected and has reset their passcodes.

In addition to that, it provides free credit monitoring services through Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. “As of today, this incident has not had a material impact on AT&T’s operations,” according to the business statement.
