Man in Custody for Carbon County Knife and Chainsaw Attack
Zak Moyer, 30, turned himself in following the attack, according to the police, and was put into custody without any problems. He is being imprisoned at the Carbon County Correctional Facility on a charge of criminal homicide.
According to a report on Monday in Carbon County, there was an active assault incident when a man used a knife and a chainsaw to attack another man. Lehighton Borough police and state police arrived.
Authorities discovered that the 59-year-old resident of the house, Edward Whitehead Jr., had been “struck” in the head by the weapons of a man “wearing a mask and a black costume-like garment, consistent with the ‘Scream’ movie character,” the criminal complaint states.
After being brought to the hospital, Whitehead passed away from his wounds, state police reported. According to the complaint, he had a large bleeding wound to the right side of his head, wounds on his hands that were consistent with defensive wounds, and cuts on his right arm and the right side of his head above his eyebrow.
In the lawsuit, security footage showed the suspect going from Whitehead’s house by the back door and going through the rear door of the house next door, where neighbors claimed Moyer resided.
Moyer’s house was surrounded by police, Moyer’s sister told police on Monday that her brother had told her a week prior that he intended to kill Whitehead.
