President Joe Biden made a significant appearance in Raleigh, addressing pressing healthcare concerns while also acknowledging the escalating tensions in Gaza.
During his speech at the Chavis Community Center, Biden noted the ACA’s ongoing significance in the country’s healthcare system as well as the anniversary of its adoption in 2010.
Reaffirming Commitment
Biden lauded the Affordable Care Act (ACA) as a historic piece of legislation comparable to Medicare and Medicaid when analyzing its impacts. Emphasizing that everyone has the fundamental right to get high-quality healthcare, he blasted former President Donald Trump and his allies for attempting to disrupt access to affordable healthcare.
During his speech in Gaza, Biden ran into protesters demanding access to healthcare. Before proceeding, Biden compassionately acknowledged their concerns and reaffirmed that everyone has the right to healthcare.
In light of the most recent House Republican budget proposals that aim to undermine significant healthcare measures, Biden reiterated the administration’s commitment to defending the Affordable Care Act (ACA) against ongoing threats.

Biden’s Commitment to Fair Contribution
Biden asked Congress to extend vital tax credits included in the American Rescue Plan Act in order to maintain millions of Americans’ access to affordable healthcare. Along with addressing tax injustices, he pledged to ensure that the wealthy contribute fairly to Medicare and Social Security, two essential social programs.
Additionally, Biden denounced the Trump administration’s assault on reproductive rights, citing in particular the reversal of Roe v. Wade and initiatives to limit access to abortion and reproductive healthcare. He emphasized the impending Supreme Court discussions on mifepristone, also known as the abortion pill, and cautioned against additional violations of women’s rights.
During his visit to Raleigh, Biden reaffirmed his unshakeable commitment to protecting healthcare access for all Americans and fighting for human rights globally, even as his administration navigates the challenges of healthcare reform and international diplomacy.
Biden’s leadership is still committed to advancing fair healthcare laws and safeguards for disadvantaged groups both domestically and internationally, despite political resistance and societal difficulties.
