Nikki Haley Pushes Back on No Labels Third-Party Bid

In a candid discussion with a small group of reporters, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley recently addressed rumors that she would make a third-party bid with No Labels. Haley categorically denied engaging in discussions with “anybody” regarding such a bid, despite what she termed as “smoke signals” of interest from No Labels. 

She attributed her reluctance to aligning with a Democratic running mate due to a misalignment of her conservative objectives.

During the hour-long discussion, Haley emphasized her Republican identity and expressed reservations about participating in a No Labels bid, which would necessitate a bipartisan ticket. She articulated her belief in pursuing endeavors wholeheartedly or not at all, underscoring her unwillingness to compromise her principles for a potential candidacy. 

For Haley, any political endeavor should prioritize the nation’s trajectory over personal ambitions.Haley’s remarks come amidst ongoing deliberations within No Labels, where delegates are slated to convene virtually on March 8 to determine the feasibility of a presidential campaign. 

Despite the group’s assertion that it could field a ticket comprising a Republican and an independent, Haley remained steadfast in her commitment to the Republican primary. However, she refrained from specifying the duration of her presidential bid, reiterating her determination to remain competitive in the race.
