E. Jean Carroll to Allocate $83 Million on an Endeavor Opposed by Donald Trump

Following the recent defamation trial against Donald Trump, in which E Jean Carroll was awarded $83 million, the writer and advice columnist has disclosed her intentions to utilize the funds on causes that the former president vehemently opposes.

The jury’s decision included $18.3 million in compensatory damages and $65 million in punitive retribution in the high-profile case where Carroll accused Trump of sexual abuse in the mid-1990s.

Defamation Lawsuit Against Trump

Carroll, accompanied by her lawyer Roberta Kaplan, expressed her elation about the verdict in a recent interview with Good Morning America.

During the interview, Carroll provided insight into her plans for the substantial sum, stating, “I’d like to give the money to something Donald Trump hates.” She hinted at the possibility of contributing to a fund aimed at supporting women who have come forward with allegations of being sexually assaulted by Trump.

Trump, who vowed to appeal the decision, denounced the verdict as “absolutely ridiculous” and claimed that the legal system was being used as a “political weapon.” The former president took to his Truth Social platform to voice his discontent with the outcome.

In the weeks leading up to the trial, Carroll revealed the emotional toll it took on her, expressing difficulty sleeping and eating in anticipation of facing the former president in court.

However, upon encountering Trump during the trial, Carroll remarked that seeing him was akin to witnessing “an emperor without clothes,” describing him as “something in a suit.”

Following the recent defamation trial against Donald Trump, in which E Jean Carroll was awarded $83 million, the writer and advice columnist has disclosed her intentions to utilize the funds on causes that the former president vehemently opposes.

The recent trial focused specifically on defamation related to Trump’s denials of the sexual abuse allegations made by Carroll. The $83 million award adds to a previous defamation case Carroll won about a year earlier, securing $5 million in damages.

The proceedings were notably less theatrical, although Trump caused a stir by walking out during Kaplan’s closing statement.

Kaplan, commenting on Trump’s dramatic exit, suggested that the moment may have contributed to Carroll winning about $10 million more in damages.

She expressed confidence in eventually collecting the judgment, indicating that Trump’s real estate holdings could potentially be leveraged to satisfy the awarded sum.

Looking ahead, Kaplan noted that if Trump engages in further defamation, they would consider bringing another case, potentially resulting in additional financial repercussions for the former president.

The legal battle between Carroll and Trump remains a focal point, highlighting the broader dynamics of power, accountability, and the consequences of alleged defamation in high-profile cases.
