Undoubtedly, one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks, the Brooklyn Bridge, has inspired countless artists. To capture its neo-Gothic towers against Lower Manhattan’s luminous skyline, position yourself at the center of the walkway, facing Manhattan.

Shooting at unconventional times, such as dawn or night, can yield enchanting images, especially in the rain and fog. Schoenbach recommends Pebble Beach for an unobstructed view and suggests incorporating foreground details for dynamic night shots.

Manhattan Bridge: Instagram’s Darling

With its iconic skyline and bustling streets, New York City stands as a visual masterpiece that has mesmerized photographers for decades.

As a younger sibling to the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge is an Instagram favorite. Capture a quintessential New York shot by focusing on the bridge from Washington Street in Dumbo. Arriving at dawn avoids crowds, allowing you to photograph the sun illuminating the steel blue beams against Dumbo’s backdrop.

For an abstract view, visit Brooklyn Bridge Park at night, utilizing a low perspective to include the industrial landscape and experimenting with long exposure for a starburst effect.
