The head of the United Nations’ humanitarian office, Martin Griffiths, has issued a stark plea for an immediate end to the fighting in Gaza, emphasizing the dire situation faced by civilians.

In a statement released today, Griffiths described the ongoing conflict as “apocalyptic,” stressing that nowhere in Gaza is safe for its residents, including hospitals, shelters, and refugee camps.

UN Urgently Calls for Ceasefire

Griffiths expressed deep concern over the escalating violence, stating that the situation in Gaza continues to worsen despite previous grim assessments.

His call for a ceasefire underscores the critical need to protect innocent lives and mitigate the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.

The UN has consistently advocated for peace in the region, and this latest plea reinforces the urgency of international intervention to cease hostilities.
