On October 7, a 20-year-old Israeli-American lady named Sgt. Elisheva Rose Ida Lubin bravely protected a kibbutz from a terrorist attack carried out by Hamas.
Tragically, during her patrol in Jerusalem’s Old City with two fellow officers, she was stabbed to death by a 16-year-old assailant.
Gregoria Sgt. Lubin’s Exemplary Dedication and Tragic Loss
Sgt. Lubin’s unwavering commitment and courage were clearly on display during her patrols in Jerusalem’s Old City. During the attack, she suffered severe injuries, and unfortunately, she later lost her life as a result of those injuries.
Another officer suffered minor injuries during the incident, while a third managed to fend off the teenage attacker. The attacker was identified as a 16-year-old Palestinian resident of Sa’ir in East Jerusalem.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a mission to locate and apprehend the assailant responsible for Sgt. Lubin’s death. This operation led to clashes between the IDF and local Palestinians during a raid at a refugee camp.

Assailant’s Death During IDF Operation
The IDF reported that during the operation, suspects threw stones and Molotov cocktails at the forces, which resulted in injuries. The assailant was ultimately shot dead by other Border Police officers.
In the aftermath of this tragic incident, the IDF arrested 28 individuals, including 11 associated with Hamas. They also discovered and destroyed a weapons warehouse that contained gas cylinders and materials intended for the preparation of explosives.
Sgt. Elisheva Rose Ida Lubin, originally from Georgia, moved to Israel in August 2021 and joined the Israel Border Police as part of her Army duty in March 2022.
Her commitment to protecting her community and her adopted homeland will be remembered, and her sacrifice serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges and conflicts in the region.
