Amid the fourth round of Stimulus check distribution in the US, it’s vital for eligible recipients to grasp qualification criteria and any extra state-specific benefits.
So far, nine out of the 20 states that have confirmed these payments have begun their distributions through the Economic Impact Payments program, as reported by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Eligibility for Stimulus Checks
Individuals: Those with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of up to $75,000 are entitled to the full payment.
Heads of Household: Those reporting an AGI of up to $112,500 qualify for the full payment.
Married Couples: Couples filing jointly with an AGI of up to $150,000 are eligible for the full payment.
Parents or Guardians: Those who claim children as dependents, eligible for the child tax credit, are also entitled to the full payment. For individuals with incomes surpassing these thresholds, partial payments are available.
However, the maximum amount decreases by $5 for every $100 that the person’s AGI exceeds the specified limit.

States Provide Extra Support to Targeted Groups
Arizona: They have introduced the Return to Work Program, which provides economic incentives to those securing new jobs. However, candidates must maintain their positions for a minimum of eight weeks to receive the payment.
New York: The state has established the Excluded Workers Fund, designed to provide unemployment payments to individuals who lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and do not qualify for other stimulus programs.
Maryland: Stimulus checks are being offered to anyone who has filed for their 2019 Earned Income Tax Credit.
Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas: These states are providing a fourth stimulus check specifically to teachers. The amount varies, ranging from $250 to $3,200, depending on the state and the applicant’s situation.
The stimulus checks tailored for specific groups vary, with incentives ranging from $500 to $2,000, contingent on both the state and the individual’s circumstances.
As these stimulus programs continue to evolve, staying informed about the specific requirements and opportunities available in your state is essential to maximize the support available during these challenging times.
