Maine Mass Shooting Gunman’s Lifeless Body Discovered

Tragedy struck the quiet town of Lewiston, Maine, when a 40-year-old firearms instructor, Robert Card, allegedly went on a shooting rampage, leaving 18 people dead. 

The horrifying incident unfolded at two local businesses, Schemengees Bar and Grille, and the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley. 

Maine Massive Manhunt for Suspect

The community was left in shock, as law enforcement embarked on a massive manhunt for the suspect. After an extensive search effort, authorities found Robert Card’s lifeless body near the Androscoggin River in Lisbon Falls. 

The Maine Department of Public Safety Commissioner, Mike Sauschuck, announced the grim discovery during a late-night news conference. Card had taken his own life, leaving behind a trail of grief and unanswered questions.

The motive behind the tragic shootings remains unknown, leaving the community and the nation in search of answers. Friends and relatives of both the victims and the shooter were informed of the tragic turn of events before the official announcement.

Governor Mills’ Call for Healing

In the wake of this devastating event, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, expressed his condolences and renewed his call for stricter gun control laws, emphasizing the need to end the recurring gun violence epidemic that plagues the nation. 

Senator Susan Collins of Maine also offered her support and appreciation for the first responders and law enforcement agencies who worked tirelessly to bring an end to this nightmare.

The deadly incident is now etched into the history of the state of Maine as the deadliest mass shooting it has ever witnessed. As the community grapples with the profound loss, Maine Governor Janet T. Mills called for healing, reminding the nation of Lewiston’s history of hard work, persistence, faith, and compassion for its people.
