Monitoring Hamas Activities

The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) jointly flagged the possibility of Hamas members exploiting vulnerabilities at the nation’s southern border to gain unauthorized entry. These agencies continue to actively monitor Hamas activities, a Palestinian Islamic organization classified as a terrorist group by the US, EU, and other entities.

John Doe, a senior DHS official, stated, “We are aware of the potential threat and are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the security of our borders. Our intelligence and enforcement officers are working tirelessly to detect and prevent any such incursions.”

Founded in 1987, Hamas is primarily based in the Gaza Strip. It has been involved in several conflicts with Israel, including suicide bombings and rocket attacks. The US State Department designated Hamas as a foreign terrorist organization in 1997.
