Florida Airbnb Nightmare: Man Kidnapped, Assaulted, and Waterboarded in Case of Mistaken Identity

Three men are accused of kidnapping, waterboarding, and threatening to kill a man at an Airbnb rental house in Florida after a stunning and terrifying episode.

However, their sinister plot took a disturbing turn when they realized they had abducted the wrong person. The suspects, identified as Jeffry Arista, his brother Jonathan Arista, and Raymond Gomez, allegedly abducted the victim outside his apartment while he was attempting to enter his car.

Florida Terrifying Abduction

Armed and wearing what appeared to be a ballistic vest, one of the suspects held the victim at gunpoint. They then forced him into a vehicle, placed a black head covering over his head, and discarded his cell phone.

The victim was taken to a rental property in Plantation, Florida, where the kidnappers realized their grave mistake. Confronted with the wrong individual, they compelled the victim to reveal his identity by producing an ID card. It became apparent that they had intended to kidnap the victim’s co-worker instead.

Despite this revelation, the three suspects continued their terrifying ordeal, waterboarding the victim, and threatening him with guns, Tasers, and even an electric drill. Court documents revealed that the victim believed he was on the brink of drowning while being waterboarded.

The following day, the victim was coerced into going to his workplace to lure out his intended co-worker. However, he confided in his colleague, and together, they devised a plan to seek help. They called in a bomb threat to their workplace, which prompted a swift police response and the subsequent arrest of the kidnappers.

Raymond Gomez, one of the suspects, claimed that they had been ordered to carry out the kidnapping by an unidentified individual over a debt. Gomez expressed remorse for the victim’s suffering during this horrific ordeal.

The Arista brothers, along with Gomez, are now facing serious charges, including kidnapping and conspiracy to kidnap. If convicted, they could potentially spend the rest of their lives behind bars.

This shocking case serves as a reminder of the terrifying consequences that can arise from criminal activities and the importance of a swift and effective response by law enforcement agencies to protect potential victims.
