The Philippines has taken a firm stance by removing a 300-meter (1,000-foot) floating barrier installed by China in the Scarborough Shoal, a contested area in the South China Sea.
The move comes after President Ferdinand Marcos Junior instructed the Philippine Coast Guard to dismantle the barrier, which Manila claims infringed upon its fishing rights.
