A one-year-old boy sadly died in New York after being exposed to the highly strong narcotic fentanyl at a Bronx daycare, in a terrible and disturbing incident.
Federal prosecutors have made a third arrest in connection with this heartbreaking case, underscoring the severity of the crime.
New York Suspect Apprehension and Legal Charges
Aged 38, Renny Antonio Parra Paredes has been recognized and captured, confronting accusations in the Manhattan District Court of New York for participating in a narcotics distribution conspiracy that led to the child’s fatality. This apprehension underscores the serious criminal conduct unfolding within the daycare premises.
The child, Nicholas Dominici, tragically lost his life due to suspected fentanyl exposure at the Divino Niño day care center earlier this month. Additionally, three other young children, two 2-year-old boys, and an 8-month-old girl, were hospitalized after being exposed to the same drug, resulting in acute opioid intoxication.
Paredes was taken into custody in an apartment in the Bronx, allegedly being involved in the conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, including at the daycare center, from as early as July 2023.

Drugs Concealed in Children’s Play Area
Shockingly, it was revealed that the drugs were stored at the daycare on children’s playmats, alongside distribution materials hidden in compartments where children played and slept.
The authorities found damning evidence, linking Paredes and his co-conspirators, Grei Mendez and Carlisto Acevedo Brito, to this heinous crime.
Phone calls and text messages led investigators to Paredes, and during the arrest, incriminating materials for drug distribution were found. Investigators believe the suspects were involved in midlevel drug distribution, endangering the lives of innocent children.
Paredes now faces serious charges, carrying a potential mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years and a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
