Philadelphia Health Department Issues Recall for Specific At-Home COVID Tests

City residents who suspect they got Flowflex COVID-19 Antigen Home Tests ought to verify the lot number on the box, according to officials.

COVID-19 Home Test Lot Number

If the lot number is “COV2110012,” officials advise to discard the tests and replace them.

According to the Department of Public Health, after a routine inspection, workers discovered an unknown lot number on Flowflex testing.

Officials noticed that this lot number was not posted on the FDA’s shelf-life extension website after conducting an investigation.

In accordance with the department, authorities eventually discovered that these tests were not genuine.

When the discovery was made, the tests were taken off the market, and officials say they are attempting to notify those who may have gotten them.

Authorities claim that around 105,000 test kits were found to be faulty, and that approximately 4,000 invalid test kits were provided through the Department of Public Health.

Officials are currently performing a complete inventory check of all COVID-19 tests in stock to confirm their validity. They are also working on techniques for verifying lot numbers and expiration dates.
