A resident of Clinton, Maryland, identified as Richard Gray III, aged 39, has been accused of committing the act of killing his 31-year-old wife, Sheray Gray, within their residence.
The incident occurred over the past weekend. Present at the scene were their 10-year-old daughter and other young children.
Maryland Tragic Discovery
The Prince George’s County Police Department has pressed charges against Richard Gray III, including first-degree murder and other associated offenses. Law enforcement officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and arrived at the Gray household around 12:40 a.m. on Saturday. Sheray Gray was discovered to have suffered fatal trauma and was declared deceased on-site.
The initial investigation, as detailed in a statement by the Prince George’s County Police Department on their official Facebook page, indicates that Gray killed his wife during a heated argument. He was taken into custody at the location.
According to official court documents, a witness had overheard the couple engaged in an argument and subsequently contacted the police. The nature of the argument remains unknown; however, the documents reveal that Sheray had been involved in a year-long relationship with someone else.

Allegations of Forceful Confrontation
The witness reportedly heard a loud noise, prompting them to approach the couple’s children and inquire about the whereabouts of Richard and Sheray. The witness was directed to the bathroom, where Richard had barricaded himself.
The documents recount that the witness heard Richard uttering the statement, “I’m tired of you doing this to me, you’re not going to do this to me anymore.” Following this, emergency services were notified.
Upon the arrival of first responders, they entered the bathroom and discovered Sheray incapacitated on the floor. The couple’s 10-year-old daughter conveyed to investigators that she had heard her parents return home and engage in an argument upstairs.
Allegedly, Richard forcibly pushed Sheray into the bathroom, leading to her falling onto the toilet. The documents state that the daughter reported hearing multiple loud noises from within the bathroom, accompanied by her mother’s screams and cries.
The accused, Richard Gray III, asserted that he had accompanied his wife to a bar and had no recollection of the events following their return home. He has been incarcerated without the possibility of posting bail.
A court hearing for Richard Gray is scheduled for September 5, as outlined in court documents. The Prince George’s County Police Department remains actively engaged in investigating this incident.
