Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, recently hinted at a potential new twitter logo for the service via a series of tweets on a Saturday.
Musk jokingly implied in his tweets that the Twitter brand and eventually all references to birds would be soon changed. He hinted that the video of the flashing “X” in his messages might represent the platform’s future emblem.
The Fascination with the Letter ‘X’ for Twitter Logo
Musk revealed his love of the letter ‘X’ in the caption of a picture of himself with a Tesla Model X in the backdrop, which raised the suspense even further.
Following Musk’s appointment as CEO of Tesla, the Model X electric vehicle was the second model to be released in 2015.
It’s interesting to note that SpaceX, Musk’s other well-known endeavor, also uses the letter ‘X’ in its name.
SpaceX was founded in 2002, years before Musk assumed control of Tesla or Twitter, and it has grown to be a significant participant in the space business.
When considering Twitter’s history, it’s interesting to remember that the service didn’t at first use its recognizable bird logo or blue branding when Jack Dorsey established the service in 2005.
The platform’s initial name, “twttr,” was written in green letters. Jack Dorsey has since established Bluesky, a new social media platform, in 2019.

Elon Musk’s Teasing Sparks Speculation
According to data analytics company Sensor Tower, Bluesky saw a huge increase in popularity, with 628,000 mobile downloads being reported in April.
Twitter, on the other hand, recorded 14.9 million downloads in April, a growth rate of only 2%.
Musk gained notoriety during this time for firing a large number of Twitter staff members and changing the platform’s algorithm to emphasize suggesting verified accounts.
Musk’s lighthearted teasing regarding the new logo has stoked interest and rumors about the direction the platform will go as the Twitter community waits for more information.
