Victim’s Contribution Unlocks Map of Titan Debris Field and Its Proximity to Titanic

In a tragic turn of circumstances, it has come to light that one of the passengers who perished aboard the disastrous Titan submarine last month had a crucial part to play in the creation of a map of the Titanic shipwreck.

The map has been instrumental in highlighting the proximity of the doomed sub to the century-old passenger liner resting on the ocean floor.

Titanic Shipwreck Mapped by Titan Submarine Tragic Victim

The company that holds the rights to the Titanic shipwreck released the map in court documents over the weekend as part of ongoing efforts to locate the lost Titan and its remains.

The map, developed by RMS Titanic Inc., the company in possession of the Titanic shipwreck and its artifacts, was submitted as an exhibit in a federal court filing.

It showcases the exact location where search teams discovered debris from the sunken Titan submersible.

Experts from RMS Titanic Inc. annotated the map to emphasize the close proximity of the submersible’s wreckage to the shipwreck it had set out to observe.

The map, known as the “Titan Debris Field,” positions the remnants of the Titan submersible to the right of the Titanic’s iconic bow.

The US Coast Guard previously reported that the debris of the Titan submersible was found approximately 1,600 feet from the bow of the ship.

Notably, the map was partially developed by Paul-Henri Nargeolet, a 77-year-old French submersible expert who tragically lost his life during his 38th dive to the Titanic shipwreck aboard the Titan last month.

Nargeolet had spent two decades working for RMS Titanic Inc., leading expeditions to retrieve over 5,000 artifacts from the wreck.

In a tragic turn of circumstances, it has come to light that one of the passengers who perished aboard the disastrous Titan submarine last month had a crucial part to play in the creation of a map of the Titanic shipwreck.

Jessica Sanders, President of RMS Titanic Inc., expressed that Nargeolet had contributed to the creation of the map.

Recognized as a preeminent Titanic historian, Nargeolet’s expertise and passion for the subject had earned him a respected place in the field. The artifacts he collected over the years are displayed in the “Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition” held by RMS Titanic Inc. in Orlando.

However, the company has faced criticism, with some accusing them of being high-tech grave robbers.

The US Coast Guard’s Marine Board of Investigation is conducting an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the implosion of the Titan submersible.

The investigation is expected to include a public hearing within the next 12 to 18 months. Additionally, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are also looking into the incident, aiming to shed light on the events that led to the tragic loss of life.
