Detectives were reportedly looking at video in an effort to identify a suspect, according to the police.
Early on Sunday afternoon, about a dozen police officers and detectives were still on the scene of the shooting. In a Brooklyn Homes public housing community, the incident happened.
According to a statement from the police, a 20-year-old guy was pronounced deceased at a hospital immediately after an 18-year-old lady was discovered dead at the site.
Col. Richard Worley, the city’s acting police commissioner, revealed the victims’ ages at a press conference on Sunday afternoon. They ranged in age from 13 to 32.
He claimed that although the police were still verifying the ages of each victim, they estimated that 14 of them were under the age of 18.
He asserted that there were unquestionably many shooters. The city’s mayor, Brandon Scott, described the shooting as a reckless, cowardly act at a previous press conference.
According to a statement from Mr. Scott, his office would deploy resources in the neighborhood in reaction to the incident with the goal of addressing trauma and bringing about local stabilization in collaboration with community-based organizations and city agencies.
