Former campaign manager for the late President Donald Trump, Mike Roman, has agreed to work with special counsel Jack Smith.
In the course of investigating the alleged scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential election, it has been reported that one of the individuals involved, Roman, has entered into a proffer agreement with prosecutors.
False Lists of Electors on Behalf of Trump
This agreement allows Roman to provide information to the prosecutors in a less formal setting, potentially avoiding the need to testify before a grand jury. In such agreements, prosecutors typically agree not to use the statements made by the individual against them in future criminal proceedings.
Roman, who had previously received a grand jury subpoena and had his phone seized, was reportedly involved in efforts to present false lists of electors on behalf of Donald Trump following the 2020 election. These fabricated lists were intended to serve as a basis for invalidating election results and potentially favoring Trump.
This development comes as reports indicate that Smith, the prosecutor, is focusing on the plot to declare fraudulent lists of electors in multiple states as a means to manipulate the election outcome in favor of Trump.

Allegations of Possessing Classified Military Secrets
In a related matter, John Eastman, an attorney known for his far-right views, who had drafted a memo outlining a plan for Vice President Mike Pence to block electors, is facing potential disbarment.
Furthermore, Roman, who served as a senior adviser to Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign and was responsible for Election Day operations, was interviewed by the House select committee investigating the events of January 6, 2021.
During the committee’s inquiry, Roman invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination when questioned about his actions after the election. However, he did provide some information regarding his pre-election activities.
Meanwhile, Smith is also making preparations for a separate trial where he has indicted Trump.
This case involves allegations that Trump possessed highly classified military secrets at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Recent reports suggest that Smith is seeking information from Susie Wiles, a Republican operative involved in Trump’s 2024 campaign, who was shown a classified map by Trump.
