In a heart-wrenching revelation, it has come to light that the family of a British billionaire and his teenage son, who tragically lost their lives aboard the ill-fated Titanic submersible, were actually on the surface on the sub’s support ship when the calamity struck. 

The incident, which occurred in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean, claimed the lives of five individuals, including Suleman Dawood, 19, and his father, Shahzada, as the submersible experienced a catastrophic implosion during its descent to the wreckage of the iconic ocean liner.

Speaking in her first interview about the devastating tragedy, Christine Dawood, mother of Suleman and wife of Shahzada, disclosed that she and her 17-year-old daughter, Alina, were present on the Polar Prince, the support vessel for the Titanic sub, when all communication was abruptly severed with the ill-fated submersible.

 In an interview with the BBC, she expressed her initial lack of comprehension regarding the magnitude of the event, and subsequently described the downward spiral of emotions that followed.

Recounting the events leading up to the tragedy, Mrs. Dawood revealed that she had initially intended to board the Titanic sub, but due to Covid-related circumstances, the plans had been canceled. 

However, when the opportunity arose to reschedule, Suleman, driven by his ardent desire, seized the chance and took her place. 

As the world turned its attention to the desperate search and rescue efforts in the Atlantic, Christine Dawood and her daughter remained on the Polar Prince, grappling with mounting anguish.

Mrs. Dawood candidly admitted that her hope began to fade after the passing of 96 hours, a critical milestone in the search.

The grief-stricken family returned to St. John’s in Newfoundland, Canada, on Saturday, where they held a funeral prayer to honor the memories of Shahzada and Suleman.

 In response to inquiries about ongoing investigations into the tragic accident, Mrs. Dawood chose not to comment, instead focusing on the elusive concept of closure and expressing her profound longing for her lost loved ones. 

Mrs. Dawood also shared a touching detail about her son’s aspirations during the ill-fated journey. 

Suleman had carried a Rubik’s Cube with him, intending to solve it 3,700 meters below sea level at the site of the Titanic wreckage.

It was a testament to his adventurous spirit and determination to break a world record, showcasing his ambitious nature even in the face of such a fateful journey.
