Since some time, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and others have been at odds over a disagreement that may have started over Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act.
The law was ratified on March 28, 2022, by DeSantis. It forbids teachers in public schools from discussing gender identity and sexual orientation.

The bill was opposed by Disney, which has a large LGBTQ+ workforce and labeled it discriminatory.
Then DeSantis made an attempt to revoke Disney’s special tax district designation, which gives it authority over its own property and services in the vicinity of Orlando.
Although DeSantis replaced the district’s governing board with DeSantis appointees, Disney was successful in opposing this action in court.
The business has defended its position by saying that it is compatible with its principles and aim to produce inclusive entertainment for all people.
Now, labor activists are paying attention to a new Florida law that DeSantis recently signed.
The Florida Minimum Wage Act is modified by it.

Florida’s Minimum Wage Act and the MLB Player Exception
He then added a couple additional comments to the social media website. Garcia concluded his tweet by claiming that the bill’s requirement that players take some action constituted progress.
Bill 892 would exempt border patrol personnel and paid baseball players from the Florida Minimum Wage Act, according to the Florida Senate website.
The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 per hour. But Florida passed a constitutional amendment in 2020 that increased the state’s minimum wage to $10 per hour and then increased it by $1 annually until 2026, when it will reach $15 per hour.
This implies that Florida’s minimum wage is much higher than the federal minimum wage, and MLB owners may have been forced to pay minor league players more in Florida than the federal minimum, according to the statement.
MLB will be allowed to pay minor league players less than the federal minimum wage indefinitely.
The current minimum wage in Florida is $11, and on September 30 it will rise to $12.
