According to rumors, Donald Trump spent the day before his appearance in federal court in Miami hunting for a local attorney to join his defense team.
Mr. Trump, who will turn 77 tomorrow, allegedly interviewed attorneys on Monday before flying from his Bedminster resort to Florida.

The former president will show up in court on Tuesday at 3pm (8pm GMT) in the illustrious case. For keeping sensitive documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort, he is being charged with 37 counts.
Two of the primary attorneys representing Mr. Trump in court last week, James Trusty and John Rowley, resigned.
He must have a lawyer who is a Florida bar member or who has been recommended by one. Yet, it is claimed that a number of people turned down the coveted position due to anxiety about media attacks and internal strife in the defense team.
Mr Trump’s team have also struggled to agree on legal strategy, with some keen to accuse the Justice Department of prosecutorial misconduct, while others believe they can win the case the traditional way, sources told the Washington Post.

Legal Heavyweights Decline Trump’s Defense
David O. Markus declined the coveted position after last month defending Democratic candidate for governor of Florida Andrew Gillum, who was found not guilty by a federal jury of lying to the FBI.
A lawyer named Benedict Kuehne is said to have been contacted for the role. He was charged with money laundering and obstructing justice in 2008. The claims were dropped in 2009.
Florida lawyer Jon Sell, who was a member of the Watergate prosecution team, was given the opportunity to join Mr. Trump’s campaign last year but declined.
Without exaggeration, Mr. Sale stated in the Washington Post that the case was perhaps the finest in the world, but the recent resignations of three of his four attorneys exposed his flaws.
Florida attorney Jon Sell, who was a part of the Watergate prosecution team, was offered the chance to work for Mr. Trump’s campaign last year but turned it down.
Even though no experienced lawyer handles a case out of town without a good local counsel, South Florida attorney Philip Reizenstein claims that many lawyers appear to be making a calculated decision that the prestige that comes with representing a former president is not worth the almost certain attack on their reputation in the media.
