Los Angeles County Financial Security Program Payment Update
Recipients receive these payments on the 15th of each month, meaning the next payment will be issued on Thursday, Los Angeles County’s Strength Based Community Change agency told the Washington Examiner.
Los Angeles County started the initiative with the goal of giving its citizens more financial security so they could breathe better.
One thousand awardees were chosen at random from a group of qualified candidates.
Because these payments are made using debit cards, recipients in this program do not need to have a bank account to receive them.
On March 31, 2022, applications for this program were available. They were due on April 13, 2022.
Payments began to be made in June 2022 and will be finished in August 2025.

Expansion of $1,000 Program for Former Foster Children
A program participant told the Washington Examiner how the extra $1,000 had made life much simpler. A buddy had told her about the program.
I just thought I’d give it a quick glance, but I wound up filling out the first section of the form before moving on to the next section, and before I knew it, I was finished, she said.
I have to admit that it was pretty painless for me because it was finished so soon; otherwise, I wouldn’t have persevered.
This program will be expanded to include 200 additional recipients, all of whom will be former foster children. If chosen, each winner will earn $1,000 per month for two years.
The time for submitting applications for this expansion opens on June 20 and closes on July 3.
