TikTok Faces Criticism for Spreading False Adam and Eve Theory

TikTok declared in April its commitment to intensifying measures aimed at eradicating inaccurate climate-related information from its platform.

The Joe Rogan Experience’s viral videos containing misleading content are not adequately addressed by TikTok in terms of removal.

TikTok Criticized for Spreading Discredited Adam and Eve Theory

Despite an opportunity to showcase its new policies, TikTok faced criticism for not taking down the offending clips from The Joe Rogan Experience as of the reported time in May.

These clips featured the debunked Adam and Eve theory, originating from a 1965 book by Chan Thomas, which lacks scientific evidence and predates extensive studies on Earth’s rising temperature.

According to the Adam and Eve theory, Earth undergoes periodic physical flips and stops rotating every few thousand years, resulting in extreme heat on the sun-facing side and 1,000-mile-per-hour winds, six times stronger than a Category 5 hurricane. Supposedly, after six days, Earth would flip back and resume its normal rotation.

Reddit Users Skeptical of Unsubstantiated Theory

TikTok declared in April its commitment to intensifying measures aimed at eradicating inaccurate climate-related information from its platform.

NASA confirms that there is no evidence supporting the occurrence of such events in the past or the future. Additionally, Media Matters for America points out that the same book introducing this theory also includes the claim that Jesus Christ spent 18 years in India before being taken away by aliens in a space vehicle.

Contrary to the misleading theory, NASA explains that Earth’s magnetic poles occasionally flip, causing compass needles to point south instead of north. However, this magnetic pole reversal does not involve a physical flipping of the Earth and does not contribute to any significant changes in the climate, let alone catastrophic heating.

Even the individual quoted in the TikTok videos, YouTuber Jimmy Corsetti, known for creating content on conspiracy theories and ancient mysteries like Atlantis, does not support the Adam and Eve theory. He clarified that the TikTok clips were edited portions of his conversation on the Joe Rogan Podcast, where he was explaining the difference between the mainstream scientific view of pole shifts and the unsubstantiated Adam and Eve Story.

The article discussing this issue was shared on Reddit, where users expressed similar skepticism toward the baseless theory.
