This new spatial computer, recently unveiled by Apple, stands as a resounding testament to the unwavering spirit of innovation that has become synonymous with the company under the visionary leadership of Tim Cook.
Several people who follow Apple have long grumbled that the business no longer innovates and instead just follows in Steve Jobs’ iPhone’s footsteps.
Apple Spatial Computer Breakthrough
The Apple Watch was developed by Steve Jobs and later improved by the company led by CEO Tim Cook, but it was launched under his leadership.
There is a tsunami of criticism surrounding the Apple Vision Pro as the company introduces a totally new product category for the first time in almost ten years, which is probably the largest breakthrough since the first iPhone.
Even while the backlash is ironic in some important ways, the mistrust is fair, particularly given that the new Vision Pro starts at $3,499.
That’s $2,500 more than the Meta Quest Pro, but to be fair, Meta’s headset started at $1,500 before a price decrease. It’s also $500 more than the already high price some had projected.
But having used the Vision Pro, I believe it’s vital to step back for a second and consider what Apple has accomplished with this product.
Redefining the Post-iPhone Era
Even while the Vision Pro clearly takes inspiration from the iPhone in many ways, this invention fully ushers in the post-iPhone era by combining recent advancements (like Apple silicon) with a brand-new device experience.
Apple refers to the Vision Pro as a spatial computer rather than a virtual reality or mixed reality headset for a reason.
It involves more than just sitting back and observing what goes on around you.
This wearable computer can be utilized for a variety of activities because spatial computing implies activity.
During my hands-on with the Apple Vision Pro, I learned that there are a ton of possibilities for cooperation with the device through a demonstration of a FaceTime call.
The Freeform app by Apple, which included a 3D model I could interact with, astonished me with how clear it appeared in augmented reality.
