It has been announced that Mike Pence, a former US vice president, will run for president.

This action sets up an unprecedented race for their party’s nomination between a former vice president and a former president.

During 2017 through 2021, Mike Pence served as President Trump’s vice president.

On Wednesday, Mike Pence is scheduled to publicly announce his bid for the White House at a gathering in Iowa. He will also participate in a town hall with prospective voters, which will be carried live on CNN.

Yet the former vice president has joined a field that is getting more crowded in the race for the Republican Party nominee.

Pence has spent months laying the groundwork for an election campaign, holding events in early-voting states like Iowa, South Carolina, and New Hampshire, visiting churches, giving policy speeches, and courting donors. Pence describes himself as “a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order.”

Some observers see Iowa and its evangelical Christian voters as a critical path if Mike Pence is to win the nomination.

In the race for the Republican nomination, Mike Pence’s ability to win over party members angry that he did not support Donald Trump’s effort to retain the White House after the 2020 election will be a crucial factor.

During the great majority of his administration, Mr. Pence stood up as a staunch supporter of Donald Trump.

Mike Pence registered as a contender for the 2024 election on Monday with the Federal Election Commission.

He was under intense pressure from Donald Trump, though, to return some crucial election results to the states.

Joe Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 election by Mike  Pence, who maintained that he did not possess such authority by virtue of the law.

As Trump supporters broke into the Capitol building on January 6, 2021, they were yelling that Mr. Pence should be hanged since several Republican-controlled state legislatures were not informed of the findings.

As protesters barged into the Capitol and commotion ensued, Mr. Pence and his family were rushed off the Senate floor and into cover.

Trump’s actions, according to Mr. Pence, are hazardous, and the nation needs new leadership in the 2024 elections, he added.

As per Mr. Pence’s campaign, evangelical Conservatives in Iowa may support him because of his staunch opposition to abortion. But Mr. Trump’s followers have heckled and booed him at several conservative events.
