24-Day Countdown: Social Security Direct Payment Worth $914 On Its Way

The second payment for June from the Social Security Income program will arrive in 24 more days and could reach $914 for single filers.

June 30, the second of the two checks for the month of June will be delivered.

Social Security Recipients Arriving in 24 Days

On June 1st, the first was sent. Due to July 1 falling on a weekend, the second payment will replace July’s payment.

Due to a minor glitch in the Social Security Administration’s scheduling, there will be two payments in June.

Beneficiaries receive varying sums of money, whereas essential persons, joint filers, and individual filers all receive varied amounts.

According to the SSA, essential persons, or those who reside with people receiving SSI benefits and provide them with necessary care, receive a monthly payment of $458.

Recipients who file separately earn $914 each month, while qualified couples receive $1,371 each month.

A person must be at least 65 years old, wholly or partially blind, or suffer from a physical or mental condition that very substantially limits their everyday activities for a period of 12 months or more or may be predicted to result in death in order to qualify for SSI.

There are exceptions when the first of the month comes on a weekend or a holiday, even though the payments are frequently released on that day.

In those circumstances, the SSA mails SSI checks on the final working day before the beginning of the month.

The second payment for June from the Social Security Income program will arrive in 24 more days and could reach $914 for single filers.

Beneficiaries still receive 12 checks annually, while receiving two checks in certain months and none in others, thanks to the modified timetable.

This year, two payments will be made in the same month on four occasions: March, June, September, and December.

This is due to the fact that January 1 is always a holiday and the first of the month always falls on a weekend or holiday in April, July, and October.

The SSA began issuing SSI payments in January 1974, and since 1975, the agency says, payment rates have increased to reflect cost-of-living changes.

The federal government does, however, borrow funds from Social Security, but it is obligated to repay the funds plus interest.
