During a campaign event in Iowa, former President Donald Trump addressed President Joe Biden’s fall at the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony.
While he outwardly expressed hopes that Biden wasn’t hurt, his remarks carried a patronizing undertone.
Trump Seizes Biden’s Fall to Showcase Ramp Agility
Trump took the opportunity to draw attention to his own experience of cautiously descending a ramp during his commencement appearance at West Point in 2020.
He humorously remarked on the ramp being “like an ice skating rink” and his need to tiptoe down it.
Trump’s comments seemed aimed at contrasting his own agility with what he perceived as a lack thereof in Biden.
About two years have passed since Biden slipped and fell at Joint Base Andrews while boarding Air Force One.
Biden recently made a mistake during the G7 Summit in Japan but recovered. Financial Times editor Edward Luce questioned Hillary Clinton about that following the encounter.

DeSantis Wishes Biden Swift Recovery
Meanwhile, another prominent GOP contender for the 2024 presidential race, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, also commented on Biden’s fall.
During a campaign stop in New Hampshire, DeSantis extended well wishes to Biden for a swift recovery from any injuries sustained in the fall.
However, he couldn’t resist taking a dig at the president, using the opportunity to criticize Biden’s policies and suggesting that the United States also needed a swift recovery from the impact of his governance.
The audience responded positively to DeSantis’ remarks, applauding and cheering.
Despite the public stumble, President Biden maintained a positive attitude. An official from the White House confirmed that Biden was unharmed, attributing the fall to a sandbag on the stage while he was shaking hands.
Upon his return to the White House, Biden made light of the situation, jokingly stating that he got sandbagged.
His ability to find humor in the incident showcased his resilience and ability to maintain composure under unexpected circumstances.
