On Wednesday, two Russian oil refineries situated east of the largest oil export terminals in Novorossiisk were targeted by drone attacks.

Controversial Videos of Alleged Drone Attack on Russian

Following the incident, numerous films from various viewpoints purporting to show the fire that allegedly resulted from the drone hit in Afipsky were shared online. Nonetheless, it should be highlighted that independent verification procedures were unable to verify the veracity and correctness of these recordings.

These videos, which emerged from different sources, presented what was believed to be footage of the fire attributed to the drone attack on the Afipsky plant. However, due to the lack of independent corroboration, the authenticity of the recordings remains uncertain.

Novorossiisk, along with the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), constitutes one of Russia’s two oil terminals, collectively contributing approximately 1.5% of the world’s oil supply.

On Wednesday, two Russian oil refineries situated east of the largest oil export terminals in Novorossiisk were targeted by drone attacks.

Although no entity has claimed responsibility for launching the drones, Russia accuses Ukraine of escalating its drone attacks on targets within its territory, including the recent attack on Moscow.

Conversely, Ukraine denies any involvement in the drone strikes conducted in Russia.

During a prior interview. Anton Gerashchenko, an advisor to the Ukrainian interior ministry, asserted that drones are powerful weapons at Ukraine’s disposal, stating, “This war is a war of drones.”

The utilization of drones has become increasingly prevalent for both Russia and Ukraine in recent weeks. The sequence of attacks commenced with a solitary drone attempting to strike the Kremlin in Moscow.

While Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that the capital’s air defenses functioned adequately, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Group, accused Russian military officials of permitting drone attacks on Moscow.

In a post on Telegram, Prigozhin questioned, “What are ordinary people supposed to do when drones laden with explosives crash into their windows?” Additionally, he claimed to have alerted the Russian Ministry of Defense to the possibility of drone attacks but asserted that his warnings went unheeded.
