China plans to build advanced industrial clusters in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, focusing on innovative products such as electric cars and robots.

Innovation And Economic Growth In China
In response to escalating tensions with the United States, the Chinese leadership has committed to establishing a modern industrial system and advancing technological capabilities to gain a strategic advantage in the current situation.
Over the past decade, China has been working towards integrating the economies of Beijing, Tianjin, and the neighboring Hebei province, collectively known as Jing-Jin-Ji. This integration holds the potential to reduce income disparities between regions and mitigate pollution levels.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has emphasized the need for coordinated industrial development in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, considering it a significant industrial hub in China. They aim to address emerging challenges and requirements by focusing on the advancement of integrated circuits, network security, power equipment, and the biopharmaceutical industry.

Attracting International Businesses
The ministry also intends to promote development across a range of industries, including biomedicine, hydrogen energy, robots, and new energy vehicles. Furthermore, research efforts will be directed toward artificial intelligence, life sciences, and aerospace technology.
In 2017, President Xi Jinping announced the establishment of the Xiongan New Area as part of a government-led initiative to integrate the economies of the Jing-Jin-Ji region and alleviate traffic congestion and pollution burdens in Beijing.
As part of this plan, President Xi has recently pledged to relocate more state-owned enterprises and other institutions from Beijing to the prominent city of Xiongan, situated approximately 100 kilometers (60 miles) southwest of the capital.
Significant entities such as universities, government departments, and industrial firms from Beijing have already been relocated to Xiongan, which has been designated to undertake specific non-capital functions of Beijing.
The Xiongan New Area is hailed as a model for sustainable urban development with substantial investments made by the government in infrastructure and technology.
These efforts aim to attract international businesses to the area. Already, the region hosts several high-tech industries, including artificial intelligence research centers and advanced manufacturing facilities.
