Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina to air TV ads in Iowa and New Hampshire ahead of anticipated 2024 GOP presidential bid.
The advertising purchase, with an estimated value of approximately $5.5 million, has been scheduled to continue until the first GOP presidential debate in late August.
Tim Scott Early Voting States Campaigning
This expenditure represents the most significant investment in advertising made by a potential or declared candidate during the initial stages of the 2024 nominating campaign.
Scott, who established an exploratory committee last month, enabling him to raise and allocate funds while considering a White House candidacy, has planned a forthcoming major announcement on Monday in his hometown of North Charleston. This announcement will reveal his decision regarding a potential presidential bid.
Scott has been visiting early voting states, such as Iowa, where the leadoff caucuses take place, and New Hampshire, which hosts the first-in-the-nation primary. He is also campaigning in his home state, which holds the first Southern primary next year.

Record-Breaking Campaign Funds
If Senator Tim Scott were to launch his campaign, he would have a considerable advantage in terms of campaign funds compared to his rivals in the 2024 race. Specifically, he would have access to approximately $22 million, which can be seamlessly transferred from his U.S. Senate campaign account to his presidential campaign.
According to the Federal Election Commission, this figure represents the highest amount any candidate in history has possessed when initiating a presidential campaign.
Confidential sources within Scott’s team, who requested anonymity to discuss unpublished strategy, stated that he could potentially run uninterrupted advertisements in the earliest voting states as early as next week, and these ads would continue until the South Carolina primary.
Scott would join a group of contenders that includes former president Donald Trump, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former governor of Arkansas Asa Hutchinson, and radio host Larry Elder if he decides to run for office.
Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, Mike Pence, the former vice president, and Chris Christie, the former governor of New Jersey, are among those who are considering running for office in 2024.
