Trump’s unstoppable momentum: Widest 2024 GOP poll margin yet over Ron DeSantis

The former president continues to dominate GOP primary polls for 2024, scoring his greatest margin over his likely leading rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

According to a survey by Emerson College, over three-quarters (70%) of probable Republican voters in Kentucky would choose Trump over DeSantis in a hypothetical GOP primary, giving the former president a 56-point advantage.

Trump Leads GOP Presidential Nomination Race for 2024

In a state where Trump and previous Republican candidates have had success, winning at least 62 percent of the vote in both the 2016 and 2020 elections, with DeSantis not even a confirmed 2024 contender yet, the Emerson College Survey of 500 potential GOP voters was done.

Additionally, in 2016, Trump defeated Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who received 31.6 percent of the vote, to win the Republican primary in Kentucky with nearly 36 percent of the vote.

The Emerson College poll is the most recent proof that Trump is still the favorite to win the GOP presidential nominee in 2024, despite his legal troubles and civil lawsuits that have threatened to end his candidacy.

On April 4, Trump entered a not-guilty plea to the criminal accusations, which include fabricating company records.
